Meghan Markle983 Archivesa breath of fresh air. Not only is she a women's rights advocate, she's also subtly but effectively bringing the royal family into the 21st century.
The duchess' surprise appearance at the British Fashion Awards caused a bit of a stir on social media because her nail polish broke with royal tradition.

Per People magazine, black nail varnish is "a rare choice" for members of the royal family. The Queen's go-to colour is Essie's Ballet Slippers, which she's been using 1989 when the royal hairdresser declared it "the only colour Her Majesty would wear."
This long-overdue break with tradition caused a flurry of excitement on Twitter, with fans hailing her "a gorgeous rebel".
