It's been a long,Series Archives bizarre year with an incredible amount of meme-worthy moments. From Kim Kardashian's "get your fucking ass up and work" to every single aspect of Don't Worry Darling, the memes were plentiful.

That being said, do you remember some of this year's best? Spoiler alert: Euphoria season 2 aired this year. Time flies, etc.

1. They would only get four free tests

The year kicked off with the U.S. government announcing they would distribute 1 billion rapid COVID-19 tests to Americans for free. The caveat was that the government would only provide four rapid tests for each residential address, regardless of the number of people living in each household. Twitter users criticized the four-test limit by posting pictures of large, well-known, fictional families with the caption, "They would only get four free tests."

2. Bitch, you better be joking

Euphoria'santicipated second season premiered in January, and it was all the internet could talk about for eight consecutive weeks. The HBO teen drama inspired many memes, but no moment produced more internet chatter than Maddy's iconic line, "Bitch, you better be joking." Twitter users screenshot the scene and turned it into a meme by altering the text and image to apply to many other TV shows, movies, songs, and celebrities.

The white dachshund Whitney Chewston, better known as the homophobic dog, originally went viral for her hilariously judgmental face in 2021. The first wave of homophobic dog memes started with a Karen-esque image of Whitney Chewston sitting next to a glass of red wine with the caption, "not too fond of gay people." This year more photos of the dog were photoshopped with similarly ironic text, like "i know what you are" and "let's hope it's just a phase." According to the dog's owners, the memes were made by members of the LGBTQ community to make fun of homophobic people.

In an interview with Variety in March, Kim Kardashian gave some characteristically out-of-touch business advice. She said, "I have the best advice for women in business: get your fucking ass up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days." Unsurprisingly, her advice wasn't well-received and the lines, "Get your fucking ass up and work" became a popular audio across Twitter and TikTok.

5. This was my Heartstopper

Heartstopper, a charming LGBTQ teen romance based on a webcomic, came to Netflix in April, and it had the internet in a loving embrace. Heartstopper inspired Twitter users to share images of other queer pop culture moments with the caption, "this was my Heartstopper." The more bizarre the better.

6. This was my Multiverse of Madness

In May, the concept of the multiverse took hold of the internet thanks to the films Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessand Everything Everywhere All At Once. Twitter users poked fun at Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness's ridiculous title by posting photos of iconic pop culture crossover events with the text, "this was my Multiverse of Madness."

7. We need an American Girl doll who

This summer, hyper-specific memes were all the rage. The ironic American Girl doll resurgence on the internet went mainstream with the "we need an American Girl doll who" meme. The meme takes inspiration from how the historical American Girl dolls aim to represent what it's like to be an American girl throughout different moments in history. TikTok and Twitter users would follow "we need an American Girl doll who" with something very esoteric to the year 2022.

8. Little Miss

Remember that week on the internet when Little Miss memes were everywhere? Riffing on the popular children's book series of the same name, the internet once again added hyper-specific, but extremely relatable, descriptions to Little Miss. But like all the brightest stars, the meme burnt out fast by over-saturating the collective timeline.

9. Girl yelling in a guy's ear at a music festival

Twitter users used this grainy photo of a girl drunkenly explaining something in an interested guy's ear to spotlight their hot takes and nuanced opinions. You may recognize this format as it is a gender-swapped version of the "drunk guy at a club yelling in an uninterested girl's ear" meme.

10. Don't Worry Darling drama

Ah yes, 2022's feature film and meme muse, Don't Worry Darling. The drama surrounding Olivia Wilde's thriller, starring Florence Pugh and Harry Styles, consumed the internet for entire months of the year, inspiring copious amounts of memes. Things reached a fever pitch in September at the Venice Film Festival where Styles may or may not have spit on Chris Pine; Styles declared that his favorite thing about the movie was that it feels like a movie; Pugh showed up late with an Aperol Spritz; and Pine looked bored out of his mind. It will go down in meme history!

11. "A Negroni Sbagliato...with Prosecco in it"

Haven't you heard? The Negroni Sbagliato...with prosecco in it was the internet's drink of the year thanks to a viral clip of House of the Dragonstars Olivia Cooke and Emma D'Arcy. Cooke asks D'Arcy, "What's your drink of choice?" To which D'Arcy smoothly answers, "A Negroni. Sbagliato... with prosecco in it." Their delightful accents and the striking chemistry between the two sent the internet into a TikTokking and meme-ing frenzy.

12. Spirit Halloween

The year didn't go out with a bang but with a basic Halloween meme. To celebrate the spooky-scary holiday, the extremely online photoshopped a Spirit Halloween costume package to be, well, anything they wanted it to be. But these user-generated costumes were mostly satirical pop culture commentary. Between a sensational meme and a not-so-sensational movie, 2022 brought Spirit Halloween back into mainstream culture.
