An essay published by Harper's Bazaarin 1929 and written by Earhart herself detailing how she flies fashionably accompanies the stunning photos. Rihanna explained why it was a "no-brainer" to choose the aviator as her inspiration by saying, "It takes a certain grace, strength, intelligence, fearlessness and the nerve to never take no for an answer.
