ATLANTA -- Astralis won the 10th Counter-Strike: Global OffensiveMajor on erotice proseSunday, taking out the Polish powerhouse Virtus.pro in an intense grand finals match to earn its first-ever Major title.

The two teams in the ELeague Major grand finals battled for glory and the $500,000 first place prize, with Astralis winning 2-1 in an exciting fight between the two Counter-Striketitans. Check out some of the best plays from the match below.

Neo nails a headshot using his sixth sense

With a 3-1 lead on offense, Virtus.pro was taking out Astralis's defense and VP's Filip "Neo" Kubski was setting up in the vents. Astralis's Lukas "Gla1ve" Rossander was sneaking up behind him with the perfect opportunity to take him out by surprise, but Neo turned around just in time and took Gla1ve out with a perfect headshot.

Astralis picks off Virtus.pro one by one

After a tactical timeout, Astralis came into round eight with a plan. The Danish team set up a perfect defense against Virtus.pro, landing perfect grenades and picking off each member of the Polish squad one by one without losing a single life.

Snax stops the defuse in a 1v3 clutch

With the first game tied 6-6, Virtus.pro managed to get the bomb planted but Astralis was moving in fast with a one-man advantage. They took out Neo, leaving Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski alone with an AWP to defend the bomb. He landed one quick kill and moved down toward the bomb to stop the 10-second defuse, landed another quick kill to make it a 1v1 and put enough pressure on Astralis's Nicolai "Dev1ce" Reedtz to keep him from finishing the defuse, winning the round for VP.

Xyp9x with the 180 headshot

In the second half, Astralis was on offense in the pistol round and Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth planted the bomb and turned to defend himself from the advancing Virtus.pro. He won a duel against Wiktor "Taz" Wojtas with a headshot and whipping around 180 degrees to return fire on Jarosław "PashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski, taking Pasha down quickly with a bullet to the head, saving the round for Astralis.

VP took Nuke 16-12 and the match moved in Astralis's map pick, Overpass.

Byali wins the round with less than a second to spare

Astralis was on offense to kick off Overpass and planted the bomb then backed away to cover in the 2v2 encounter. VP's Taz moved forward to keep pressure off the bomb while his teammate Paweł "Byali" Bieliński stayed on the bomb to get a 10-second defuse. As Taz distracted Astralis and took them out, Byali just barely managed to stop the bomb from exploding with less than one second until it took out both of them.

Xyp9x gets unreal clutch with 1 health

Xyp9x found himself in a 1v3 situation against Virtus.pro in round 20 but wasn't about to give up. Lucky for Xyp9x, Neo walked right in front of his crosshairs with the bomb, allowing Xyp9x to turn it into a 1v2 and defend the bomb. Xyp9x moved in on Byali and was tagged down to one health, forcing him to back up and watch another angle. Like Neo, Pasha walked right into Xyp9x's crosshairs, evening up the round to a 1v1. Xyp9x ran back to find cover and keep eyes on the bomb, picking off Byali from a distance to win the round in astounding fashion.

Kjaerbye saves Astralis from the brink of death

With VP up 14-13 on Overpass, Astralis needed to win the next round or risk losing the finals 2-0. Amid chaos, Astralis's Markus Kjaerbye stayed cool as he found himself in a 1v1 against Snax, needing to move fast or else risk losing to the bomb's timer. Kjaerbye placed a smoke on the bomb to limit Snax's sight and crouched around the pillar, taking Snax out with a headshot with enough time to defuse the bomb and give Astralis enough confidence to win Overpass 16-14 and push the finals into map three, Train.

Kjaerbye takes a grenade to the face

Kjaerbye was posted down in bombsite B defending against the advancing Virtus.pro, taking out Neo and waiting for Snax to come forward. Instead, Snax tossed a grenade and hit Kjaerbye right in the dome, dropping him in an instant. What a way to go.

Kjaerbye stops a clutch and barely defuses the bomb

Astralis was on a roll after being down 7-0, grinding back to a 8-5 deficit. Astralis had control on bombsite A against Taz, but Taz made quick work of two players to take it down to a 1v1 between him and Kjaerbye. Kjaerbye was baiting out Taz as time was dwindling down on the bomb and Taz bit. Kjaerbye took him out quick and went back to defusing the bomb, stopping VP from winning another round with less than a second left.

Taz absolutely destroys Astralis

Astralis came into the third round of the half with a hard economy, pushing on offense with nothing but pistols. Virtus.pro was set up and ready, and after a great grenade from Pasha, Taz moved in with the P90 and tore through Astralis, getting a quad-kill while Byali picked up the fifth in a fight that lasted no more than five seconds.

Xyp9x wins intense duel against Snax

In the 21st round, VP had superior guns but Astralis had superior strategies as it came down to a 2v2. Astralis's Peter "Dupreeh" Rasmussen snuck up and took out Taz and Snax quickly traded kills on him to take it to a 1v1, Snax with an AK-47 against Xyp9x with a Tec-9. Xyp9x found his way back to a tight spot and baited Snax away from the bomb, ending the round with a lightning fast headshot on Snax.

Astralis continued pushing back round after round, beating back Virtus.pro left and right to take the map 16-14, and becoming Major champions.
