Heeeeeeeeee's back.
Maybe.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is Netherlandsexpecting to return to play a role in yet another Terminatormovie, according to a report coming from the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday.
With the mixed reactions to the latest Terminatorfilm, some wondered if the franchise might be shuttered for good.
Alas, that all changed back in January when news dropped that Terminator 2director James Cameron is planning to jump back into the Terminatorfranchise (as producer) in 2019 when he regain some rights to the franchise. Given that change in direction, it's no surprise that Schwarzenegger revealed to Screen Dailythat he recently met Cameron about being involved in an upcoming Terminatormovie.
"It is moving forward," the actor told Screen Dailywhile in Cannes. "He [Cameron] has some good ideas of how to continue with the franchise … I will be in the movie."
However, even if Cameron hands the movie off to another director, now that he's knee deep in a massive Avatarsequel series, it seems unlikely that a Cameron/ Schwarzenegger team up could happen any time soon. In the meantime, as Cameron attempts to pull off the ultimate Hollywood juggling act, we can only hope that a return to Terminatorgreatness for the pair will actually happen.
