Tom Hanks is Covet: Island of DesireTwitter-renowned for posting photos of lost gloves, lost shoes, and other orphaned items -- and, of course, for signing all his tweets "Hanx."
On Friday, though, Hanx's feed took a creepier turn ... in the form of this supremely eerie NYC building.

But Twitter also came through with some answers. Officially called the Long Lines building, the edifice at 33 Thomas Street was originally built by AT&T to house carrier exchanges for its long distance call equipment, per Atlas Obscura.
Today, it's also reportedly a hub for the NSA, according to The Intercept, and can allegedly operate for up to two weeks off the grid. And -- for the icing on this spooky cake -- the Long Lines building is designed to survive nuclear fallout.
So no, not even Hanx himself can set foot in here. That's okay, though, because we have bigger things to worry about. For example, can ghosts inhabit NSA equipment?
